Indoor Athletics

Well done to all the boys and girls who participated in the Athletics at the Aura Centre on Wed. 29th Feb.

Parents,

The pupils of Woodland National School have already achieved three green flag awards, the themes which were-Litter and Waste, Energy Conservation and Water Conservation.

This year the school will be applying for it’s 4th Green flag. The theme for this flag is Travel. As part of this flag, children have and will be learning about ways of travelling in an environmentally friendly way e.g. public transport, walking, car pooling or cycling.

In order to encourage the children to consider this in their everyday lives a ‘Green School Cancel the Car Chart’ can be downloaded. So every time your child walks, cycles or takes part in public transport on a journey, instead of a car, they colour in a section.

Similarly if you as a parent avoid any unnecessary journeys with the child or they share a lift with someone, they can colour a section.

Your support in this is very much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Aisling Gallagher (Green School Chairperson)
